Kyoto's most photographed half-mile. Taxi to Kiyomizu-dera before the crowds, walk down Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka through the old wooden streets, lunch in Higashiyama, rest, evening in Gion.

The famous descending stone-paved streets. Wooden machiya, ceramic shops, matcha soft serve, the cherry tree at the bottom. Slow walk — there are stairs.
Yudofu (boiled tofu hot pot) is a Higashiyama specialty if Linda + Kerry want classic Kyoto. Otherwise an obanzai (small-plates) lunch set.
Back to MIMARU. Long afternoon nap. Re-emerge for dinner.
Hanamikoji street between 17:30–18:30 is when geiko walk to evening engagements. No flash photos, no chasing them.
Yakitori, kaiseki light, or izakaya. Pontocho lane has options at every price point — pick by the menu, not the storefront.
